Sylvain Goemaere

Born in 1955 in Paris, Sylvain Goemaere studied biology at the University of Jussieu in Paris, and graduated from the School of Sorticulture in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. In 1979, he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Paris (Beaux-Arts de Paris), studying in the studio of the sculptor Georges Jeanclos.

Sculptor and ceramist, one could call him candid, dreamy, whimsical, or even wildly inventive, as an accomplice observer of nature, in search of its protection. It is thus, at each session, that his multiple birds, animal bowls, or even his imaginary characters and flower vases appear, through modeling.

The works of Sylvain Goemaere appear in numerous private collections in France and abroad.

He received the Encouragement Prize from the Academy of Fine Arts, Académie des Beaux-Arts, Institut de France in 2022
