Jules Le Maut
Jules Le Maut was born in 1994 in Lannion. He lives and works in Brest. After training as a carpenter, he works as an audiovisual and film set designer, taking advantage of his free time to travel and “tinker”. In 2016, he sailed and travelled across the Atlantic Ocean.
At the age of 25, Jules was admitted to the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin / High School of Arts (HEAR) in Strasbourg where he trained in the sculpture department. It is in the workshops of this school that he discovered metal and ceramic work, techniques that he integrates in his sculptor practice.
For his first artistic project, he spent a lot of time on the banks of the Rhine and created a bestiary with the objects found in and around the river. In 2023, he returned to settle in Brittany where he develops new artistic projects: drawings, engravings, sculptures and installations works inspired by different themes and subjects such as nature, animals and imaginary stories, using recycled elements and affirming an ecological approach.
